Jeff grew up in the Dayton area but was born in Indonesia (his parents were medical missionaries). He married his wife Julie in 1997 after graduating from Toccoa Falls Bible College in Georgia, and they moved to New York to attend Alliance Theological Seminary. Their plans were to go overseas as missionaries, but God led them in a different direction. After graduating with a Master of Divinity degree in 2001, he and Julie moved back to Ohio for Jeff to pursue his Ph.D. in Cincinnati at Hebrew Union College – Jewish Institute of Religion. The goal was to teach the Bible at a college or seminary.
After settling on the west side of Cincinnati, starting a family, and launching a rental property business, Jeff and Julie got connected with LifeSpring and were called to pioneer a third location of LifeSpring in Harrison, OH in 2008. Jeff stayed the course to complete his Ph.D. and then began teaching part-time as an online adjunct instructor for his alma mater. When the decision was made to become autonomous churches in 2016, Jeff was ready and well positioned to transition into the Senior Minister role of the LifeSpring Community Christian Church.
Jeff is a team-player and creative communicator. He is a leader of leaders and is passionate about mobilizing others to join God in restoring a broken world. His strengths include organizational administration and strategic planning. Jeff is a disciplined, productive achiever. Critical thinking and research are "fun" for him!
Jeff and Julie are thankful to have two precious daughters, Kayla and Rachel. They love living in Harrison and being part of the community. Jeff is an adventure enthusiast at heart. He enjoys running, mountain biking, boating and bow hunting. Jeff loves to get off the beaten path to explore something new. When he was in high school, he thought Christianity was just for young kids and elderly women, but when he encountered the real Jesus, everything changed. His passion today is to help others know, love, and serve a Jesus who doesn’t just offer eternal life for the future but who calls us to brave, adventurous, abundant living now.
